WOAH!

WHY A CHURCH?

Teopixqui Dez on why the Community of PACK Life is specifically a "church":

"We live in a system that functions as designed—designed to empower the few while burdening the many.

In 2024, we can clearly see that numerous avenues of hate and violence have been carved out and reinforced by organizations weaponizing their religious status. We've all witnessed hate speech masquerading as expressions of faith. But what kind of divinity would have room in their heart to nurture hate?

Now, imagine if we took those same powers and channeled them for good. What if we used the very legal frameworks that the ignorant and hateful exploit to sharpen their words into calls for violence, to instead fortify and uplift people?

By having our acts of faith and spiritual beliefs recognized federally, we gain these religious protections. This recognition comes in the form of a 501(c)(3) status as a religious non-profit. In this context, 'church' can become more of a legal title than a reflection of any specific religious doctrine.

But this doesn't stand alone.

The Universe communicates with us in ways we can understand, and the spirituality experienced through natural medicine is diverse. Because of this, our Community doesn’t preach any singular ideology.

I’m not here to impose my beliefs on anyone or create an echo chamber. I have no desire to be placed on a pedestal higher than any other PACK Member.

I’m here to help people ask better questions - to help strengthen the spirit - knowing that when the spirit is fortified, the mind and body follow.

This isn’t about making me more powerful. It’s about creating a stronger 'us.'

Gathered together, exploring the self through natural medicine, communing with things beyond our traditional understanding while uniting under love and the idea that we are all kin.. - isn't that what a church should be?"

ASKED

QUESTIONS

Is this legal?
Colorado SB 23-290 which allows for the natural medicines we use in the Community to be utilized. The natural medicines made accessible in Colorado are still federally illegal. Click here for a link to SB 23-290.

HOW is this legal if selling psychedelics is illegal?
Everything made accessible in the Community is free as an act of wellness. The events and gifts are always provided without any costs. We run exclusively on donations.

Do I have to donate?
Your ability to donate does not impact your access to events or Communal Gifts. Any form of trade to get psychedelics in Colorado is illegal. Buying a sticker/lighter that comes with free psychedelics, if you cannot receive those psychedelics without buying the other item, is illegal.

Are people under 21 allowed?
Can they get psychedelics since it's a church and has religious protections?

Our Community is open to everyone, regardless of age as we want to provide a safe space for all people. The natural medicines provided by the Community are only accessible to people 21 and up, as outlined by SB 23-290.

What legal protections did you need to be a church for?
This has several answers.
With a rise in discrimination against LGBT+ youth, respecting pronouns is a simple act that has become a battleground in some schools. The First Universal Truth is 'Revere the Self'. Self-identification is an act of reverence. Pronouns are a reflection of self-identification and an act of faith. In the absence of a willingness to do right by a school or district, we can utilize our status to win an unnecessary fight for our religious expression to be recognized. Never again will a queer youth fight that battle alone.
While respecting local legislation, the ability for companies to discriminate based on the use of natural medicine still stands. The status does not create an impassible barrier, but it adds legitimacy to the use of natural medicines and can eventually lead to legislation that protects our right to revelry.

We do not use our religious status as a shield to circumvent the law. We adhere strictly to local legislation so we can add legitimacy to this movement. We use out status to empower and help others find their joy again.
